For over 15 years, the IT Association of Kolhapur (ITAK) has been actively advocating for the establishment of an IT Park in Kolhapur. Through persistent engagement with government authorities, industry presentations, and continuous follow-ups, ITAK has worked with a clear vision to strengthen the IT ecosystem in the city.
We are delighted to announce that the Maharashtra State Cabinet has officially approved the creation of the Kolhapur IT Park, marking a historic achievement for both the city and the regional IT sector. This milestone is a testament to the dedicated efforts of past Presidents, Directors, and the current Executive Committee of ITAK, whose consistent commitment and teamwork over the years have brought this vision closer to reality.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to MLA Mr. Amal Mahadik and MLA Mr. Rajesh Kshirsagar for their support and active role in raising this important agenda with the government. Their involvement was crucial in ensuring that this initiative received the attention of the state leadership.
The development of the Kolhapur IT Park is expected to:
- Open new avenues for IT investments
- Generate thousands of job opportunities for local youth
- Enable local IT companies to grow and expand
- Establish Kolhapur as an emerging IT hub in Maharashtra
At this stage, we strongly advocate that local IT companies be given priority in the upcoming IT Park, allowing the city’s existing talent and entrepreneurial spirit to flourish. We also call upon the industry, educational institutions, and business community to support local IT initiatives and ITAK’s efforts to build a robust and sustainable technology ecosystem in Kolhapur.
The journey to make Kolhapur a recognized IT destination has just begun, and ITAK remains committed to driving the growth of the IT sector in the region with the same dedication.
