A Personal Note from Me to All Students and Educators – The Truth You Need to Hear

By Mr Pratap Patil, CEO – Walstar Technologies Pvt Ltd.

Hello and thank you for visiting my portfolio.

I’m Pratap Patil, the CEO of Walstar Technologies Pvt Ltd.
In my journey of running a tech company, I regularly meet students, interns, and freshers who have dreams of working in the IT industry. Many of them are talented and full of energy -but at the same time, they are confused unprepared, and lost.

That’s why I feel the need to share some real thoughts with you.
Not as a CEO, but as someone who truly wants to see students succeed.

What I See Every Day

Many students today are spending too much time on Instagram, scrolling reels, watching short videos… but not even spending 30 minutes daily on learning new skills or building something useful.

Then, as soon as the final semester ends, they suddenly start searching for a job. That’s when I get messages like:

  • Sir, please help me with a job.
  • Can you refer me?
  • I’m available to join immediately.
  • What package will I get?

Some even call at night on weekends – all in a hurry, all in panic.

But before asking these questions, I believe every student must ask themselves this:
Why am I not job-ready after 3 or 4 years of college?

Let’s Be Honest

This is not a blame-game. But we must speak the truth.

  • Did you spend time building real, practical skills?
  • Did you use those years to become good at something?
  • Did you just attend classes, or did you actually practice and improve?
  • You expect a ₹4–6 LPA job – but can you answer even the basic questions in your field?

If the answer is no, then it’s time to reflect and take responsibility.

The Common Line I Hear: “Give Me a Job, I Will Learn Everything.

This sounds nice, but here’s the truth I’ve learned while running my company:

A company is not a training center.

We hire people who are ready to contribute from day one – not those who just want to come and learn everything after joining.

If you really want to learn, there are better options:

  • YouTube is free.
  • Internships and boot camps are available.
  • So many online courses are out there.

But when you apply for a full-time job, you must be ready to deliver, not just learn.

My Honest Advice to You

Here’s what I suggest -from experience, and with full honesty:

  1. Pick one skill and master it.
Don’t try to do everything. Choose what you love and get really good at it.
  1. Practice every single day.
Watching tutorials is not enough. Build something with your hands and show your progress.
  1. Improve your communication.
Send proper emails and professional LinkedIn messages. Don’t send casual messages like you do on WhatsApp.
  1. Start preparing before your final semester.
Don’t wait till college ends. Get job-ready before that.
  1. Build your portfolio.
Put your work online. Let recruiters see what you can do. Projects speak louder than degrees.

The Real Truth You Must Accept

Let me say this clearly:

No one will give you a job just like that. You have to earn it. Work hard. Stay consistent. Don’t waste your time thinking someone else will make your career for you.

You have to make it yourself -and you can, if you start now.

A Final Message

If you’re a student reading this, I hope this note gives you direction. If you’re an educator, I request you to guide your students beyond the syllabus -help them get ready for the real world.

Let us, together – students, mentors, and companies – build a generation of doers and leaders.

Thank you for reading.
Pratap Patil.
